The Wes Burnham designed course opened for play in December 1989 with 18 holes. Nine holes were added in the winter of 2001 and the three nines were named "the good" "the bad" and "the ugly". The "bad" nine holes were just rebuilt with the "ugly" nine scheduled to be rebuilt in the spring of 2005. Hombre is constantly making improvements to set the standard for Emerald Coast golf. Hombre Golf Club has four sets of tees, a "Golf Magazine" top twenty-five golf school, a complete practice facility and golf package accommodations available at Hombre's sister resort, Edgewater Beach Resort. THE GOLF COURSE		HUBERT GREEN TOURING PRO
The Hombre’s four sets of tees allow golfers to choose the level of difficulty that best fits their game and handicap. On the original 18 holes the course plays from 5,275 yards (senior tees) to 6,820 yards (championship tees) for the men while the ladies layout is a challenging 4800 yards. The Hombre opened in December 1989 with 18 holes and hosted its first PGA Tour event in 1990, The Panama City Beach Classic. In 2001, Hombre added the "Good" nine holes (3170 yards, par 35)to go along with the original "Bad" and "Ugly" nines. With 27 holes, Hombre can give you three different 18 hole options.		The Hombre Golf Club is proud to have Hubert Green; one of the most prominent PGA Tour players to ever play the game as its touring professional. Hubert is among the top 33 all-time PGA Tour Winners with 19 victories during his 26 years on the PGA Tour. Hubert won the 1977 US Open and won a second major in 1985 at Southern Hills winning the PGA Championship. In his second season on the senior PGA Tour in 1998, Hubert won the Bruno’s Memorial Classic in his home town of Birmingham, Alabama. Hubert is active in golf course design having designed The TPC at Southwind, the site for the PGA Tour’s St. Jude Classic, Greystone where he won the Bruno’s Classic, Reynolds Plantation in Georgia and many more.
