Imagine a
gym where you can not only work out, but play racquetball, sizzle in the steam
room, have your hair done, grab a healthy lunch with friends, take part in
fitness classes, drop the kids off and even cross train outdoors. Until now there
have been several good gyms available but no fitness/health facility on that kind
of scale in the area. Today, thanks to Doug Durham - owner of the Rock Pile,
Panama City Beach is now home to a brand new 30,000 square foot,
state-of-the-art complex where you will find all the above and more!
The Rock
Pile was previously located on Front Beach Road, but has now moved to bigger
and better digs opposite Shipwreck Island Water Park on Hutchinson Blvd. This
supergym officially opened on Saturday, November 10th and is off to
a fantastic start, with an official “Grand Opening” scheduled for Wednesday,
November 28th at 4:00pm. Doug Durham’s main objective is to provide
an unparalleled facility where people can enjoy the convenie ...

Now that the weather has cooled
off after a sizzling summer, it’s time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine,
blue skies and perfect temperatures! Luckily for us, Panama City Beach provides
an unlimited number of ways to do exactly that, one of the most recent being
the opening of a new conservation park in October 2011. Encompassing over 2,900
acres previously owned by the St. Joe Company, the Panama City Beach
Conservation Park was developed over many years and made a reality by Panama
City Beach officials, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Corp
of Engineers and the Florida Department of Fish & Wildlife.
The park has several objectives,
the first being the need to protect and balance our natural resources, as well
as rehydrating the land with the city’s reclaimed water. Before the Conservation
Park, the City would send its reclaimed water from the wastewater treatment
facility into West Bay. By designing a system of pumps to redirect the
water, t ...

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt in Panama City Beach is one of those
places that you’ve either stopped by a dozen times already or that you’ve never
even noticed. Situated in the Shoppes at
Beckrich (with Firehouse Subs and the Verizon Store) this heavenly haven of
deliciousness is actually the most popular frozen yogurt brand in the world and
in my opinion, quite rightly so.
The store itself couldn’t be any more inviting. Cheery, colorful
and almost whimsical, the sheer number of options upon entering is mind
boggling and you almost don’t know where to look or where to start! First you
get to choose your flavor/s. Choose however many you want, or actually mix two
flavors together if the desire strikes. Then it’s on to the toppings. Honestly,
there are too many to even mention, but there’s pretty much anything you could
possibly want, and even a selection of fruit choices for those not looking to
indulge that much. The cost is
determined by ...
