After a high demand and four years of waiting, construction begins this week at Aaron Bessant Park for the amphitheater that is hoping to bring large acts year-round to the area. Thursday August 2, 2012 at 6pm there will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the amphitheater to commemorate the beginning of such a viable resource.

The Tourist Development Council made a $2.6 million contribution to green light the project from BP funds in an agreement with Panama City Beach and the Bay County Commission. This news has given great excitement to future fun for the Panama City Beach area and beyond.

Event proceedings will begin at 6pm and be followed at 7pm the Summer Concert Series with Heat and the Zydeco Gents performing in Aaron Bessant Park.

Come and enjoy the beginning of a new era for Panama City Beach with the entire community. Food vendors will be on site with delicious edibles to compliment the excitement. We hope to you there.
