Captain Anderson's restaurant is known for so many things. The rich history of great food and atmosphere they have been providing the area since 1976 is definitely something they're known for and very proud of. Though,
their wine list has always made waves throughout the community and beyond. Now it's making an even bigger splash with their selection for the coveted
Wine Spectator Award of Excellence of 2012. This is certainly not their first award for wine or food, but Captain Anderson's has stepped out of the norm and begun to bring something to the table that most have yet to tackle.
Step into the Future
With so much allure and prestige behind the Captain Anderson's name, now you can be as modern as it gets when choosing your wine at dinner to compliment your fresh fish or succulent steak while dining at Captain Anderson's restaurant. The respected wine list is now presented in the
form of an iPad. So not only is their wine selection winning award after award, it's also sleek and futuristic. This doesn't discount the fact they are constantly providing a list that can make a 14th century King blush, but this is a solid indicator of the type of excellence Captain Anderson's strives to bring their guests. Not to mention how cool it ultimately is to select your wine from an iPad. It doesn't get much more technologically advanced with wine than this.
So Much Passion for Excellence
“Wine has always been an adventure to us,” explained Yonnie Patronis, General Manager and co-owner of Capt. Andersons, “The iPad technology allows us to share that adventure with our guests in a fun way – actually, it’s more than fun – it allows wine lovers to really explore the wine in a more in depth manner, and it allows people who are just beginning their adventure into wine to explore, learn and enjoy the process in a cool non-intimidating way. We are very excited about the program, and very grateful to be recognized, once again, by Wine Spectator magazine. We hope everyone will come out and ‘virtually’ explore the Capt. Anderson’s cellar! We have our regular wine list and our extensive Capt.’s list on the iPad.”
The 2012 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence is such an incredible achievement from a place that takes so much pride in their wine. Only 2,482 restaurants worldwide carry this distinct merit with the Award of Excellence, which honors a wine list (whether on an iPad or not) with at least 100, well-chosen selections that are clearly presented and paired exquisitely with the restaurant's cuisine. Such a notable benchmark for such a notable place of dining.
Captain Anderson's restaurant and the Patronis family have given their all for so many years and it shows. From seafood to wine, they have the creme de la creme plus more. Visit them to join in with the traditions of excellence formed over their 55 great years of service and choose from their award-winning selections of wine to fully enjoy your evening out at Captain Anderson's.
